A carpet of dead leaves, a sign of renewal for the second line of Alexander McQueen. It’s also a sign of the femininity that flourishes throughout the fashion show. The austere silhouettes in two-toned khaki or leather military coats, are insidiously adorned with floral patterns. They are gradually softened by knitwear and lace, finally warmed-up through the embroidered purple velvet, and explode into a bouquet of colorful flowers. And when the retro white dress at the end appears, entirely in layers of tulle embroidered in flowers, the mis-en-scene reflects the day rising on woodland.
